Discography

The Donut Kings have recorded four CDs in the past few years. "Odd prime", the band's debut album, was recorded at Warehouse Studios, Kennington in March 2003. The CD features the first published release of "The Donut King", the origin of the bandŐs name, and various works by our musical director, Will Heathcote.

Four new compositions by Will also feature on the more recent album, "Jam Packed", which was recorded at The Bully in Oxford, by Miles Ashton (Ronnie Scott's/NYJO Engineer) in March 2005. The CD also includes Gordon Goodwin and NYJO charts and 4 superb vocal numbers.

The follow-up, Where The Music Is, was recorded in March 2006 at the Maidment Building, Shrewsbury by the BBC's Mike Smith and Stephen Shipley. The album features Curnow's, Minuano and inculdes such favourites as Birdland and I Wanna Be Like You. As always, it also features the latest offering by Will Heathcote, our band composer in residence, Live By The Coin.

The most recent Donut Kings production was King-Sized which was released this year following a recording and the Jacqueline Du Pre music building, St Hilda's College, Oxford. This CD particularly features Marc Vastenavondt (http://mvastenavondt.blogspot.com/), a previous vocalist from the band who has gone on to study at the Royal College of Music as well as featuring with several other band members on the recent BBC The Last Choir Standing series.
